Signal brief

How to structure a sector brief people actually read

The best briefs are easy to scan and easy to save. They start with the takeaway, follow with the evidence, and end with the next thing to monitor.

That structure respects the reader's time. It also reduces the temptation to over-explain. If the message is strong, the brief should be able to stand on its own without a long lead-in.

For this site, that means every article should have a clear opening, a readable body width, and a visual treatment that helps the eye move without friction.
